Louis Tomlinson lashes out at a renowned producer on Twitter after a track by his former bandmate singing solo appears online.
Zayn Malik may have left One Direction on good terms - but all that could be about to change.
Just days after announcing his departure from the band so he could be a "normal" 22-year-old, a demo recording of Malik performing on his own has been posted online by a renowned producer.
Louis Tomlinson, one of his former bandmates, went crazy, crazy, crazy when he heard the song.
In a tweet to the producer behind the leak, Naughty Boy, he wrote: "Wow @NaughtyBoyMusic you're so inconsiderate pal, seriously how f****** old are you? Grow up!"
Tomlinson accused the British DJ of trying to wind up One Direction fans, who are still nursing broken hearts after the five-piece band became four – prompting fears a split was imminent.
Naughty Boy was soon the subject of a Twitter backlash, but as one person pointed out, it's an often repeated rumour that Harry Styles has also been working on solo projects in recent months.
In Malik's song – called I Won't Mind – the star is heard crooning over an acoustic guitar. The track is considerably different from the catchy pop ditties that made him a multimillionaire.
The remaining four members of One Direction are currently on a tour of South Africa – and last week, Liam Payne thanked fans for not thinking the band was finished.
Malik, from Bradford, had been "signed off with stress" in the days before he quit the band, after he was pictured with his arms around a girl who was not his fiancée, Perrie Edwards.
In an interview with The Sun, he admitted he was "upset" about how his departure had affected One Direction's millions of loyal fans.
